Yeah, her part wasn't terribly exciting, but it was fun to see her anyway. But I think it's possible they could bring her back at some point...since she is a lawyer, she could be defending someone else and the detectives talked about her like they were familiar with her work.

Oh I think it has a good chance of being a recurring role. She was the only one who's character name was given in the opening credits and the detectives and the DA acted like they knew her - calling her Stella, etc. and acting like they knew she was kind of a slimy lawyer.

I love the line of Eliot's - something about the temperature of the room rising when Stella left the room.

The part was so tiny, but she was really, really good. It was so small I'd almost call it a cameo appearance. I do hope she comes back.

I don't know the show that well but I've been watching for the last couple of weeks and it seems like the lawyer scenes are usually in the last 5 minutes of the show so keeping that in mind, her role was pretty big.

I really loved in the first scene when she just grabbed Chris Sarandon and pulled him out of the room. Though her parting line about letting a husband grieve gave me the chills.

Also loved the way she called her client, "Darrlingg".

Me too. I could almost see the grief in her eyes.

Do I need to use a whole DVD for this? Also does anyone know if the defense attorneys appear on the various Law & Orders? I can't remember if I've only seen Tovah Feldsuh, Chip Zien, etc. on one or if they've crossed over. I think it's best to be a lawyer on the Sam Waterston one since half the show is devoted to the "legal" side.

Wanted to add one comment about this episode:

Bravo to Bob Saget! Who thought he had a performance like that in him? Or anywhere within a 10 block radius?

Yeah, Bob Saget was great too. So was Chris Sarandon, who I loved in The Light in the Piazza.

I was just thinking that if her part is that small, I won't tape the whole episode. Of course later it won't make much sense.

I watch all three sporadically, but I've never bothered to see whether the lawyers or the judges cross over. You would think they could, but I guess they have different directors, etc.

I really didn't think the character was slimy at all. She was just a very tough, aggressive criminal defense attorney--smart, kind of slick, but bemused greatly by her own slickness. Of course the cops hated her; the cops always hate defense lawyers. I took the thing about letting the husband grieve as part of her "put the police on the defensive" lawyer-schtick.

And, yeah, it was very hot.

It was great to see her on TV. I loved the darling part too. And the husband line gave me chills too.
