From: NYC | posted: 10/27/2006 at 1:01:22 PM ET Isn't it wonderful about Liza too? And Angela Lansbury was on SVU last year and was nominated for an Emmy for it. Perhaps this will be an Emmy nom for Bernadette!
(Jerry Orbach was in more musicals than any other man. He was the first celebrity I saw when I moved to NYC 4.5 years ago and he looked exactly the way he did on L&O. I miss him so much.)
(And Jean - that list is way too long - there are toooooo many Broadway performers who find their way to L&O - I heard once that the L&O franchise is like a grant to NY stage actors so they can afford to keep living and working in NYC. Our own Kate has even been on L&O.)

Jane Krakowski and Anthony Rapp played brother and sister in one of my favorite SVU episodes.
Bebe Newirth has done crossover and played the same character on different Law and Orders. She also played a model agency person early on, which makes it funny that then all of a sudden she was a lawyer. lol
And of course we have Jesse L. Martin as one of the lead characters on the regular L&O.
Alfred Molina played Angela Lansbury's son on the shows.
John Dossett was in an episode of SVU, as was Tammy Blanchard.

From: NYC | posted: 10/27/2006 at 11:24:40 PM ET The episodes with Stritchie are terrific...as well as the episodes that Patti LuPone is in - her character is a defense attorney and she delivered her lines very humorously. My favorite reoccurring actor is Tovah Feldshuh - she makes Sam Waterston as "Jack" crazy and was even shot in one episode. Donna Murphy has been on as well as Debra Monk has been on a lot. John Dossett is usually a priest or a bad guy and is always terrific. Denis O'Hare always plays a creepy guy (type casting? haha) Somebody bothered to put together a pretty good list of the actors who have appeared on Law & Order: Wikipedia Law & Order
I love L&O - all the incarnations, although it took me time to get used to Criminal Intent.

My friends and I have "SVU Wednesday", we all sit down to watch together and see if we can work it out before the detectives do. Now I can prove to them why I'm a Bernadette fan-they "don't get" Broadway. (I know, they are crazy!) This is so cool.YAY!

Cannot wait.

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 11/1/2006 at 1:11:53 PM ET My opinion is that the show was fake, fake, fake (amusingly so actually), but that Liza was just great. I was so impressed with her performance. Very subtle, very nuanced, completely naturalistic and believable. I hope this leads to more television and film work. She has so much to offer as an actress.
The rest of the actors just seemed okay to me, with the exception of the actress who played the former rookie cop and who I thought was also excellent. Bill Irwin was kind of disappointing. Not terrible or anything, but somehow I was expecting more.
I felt it was a real personal triumph for Liza.
