| posted: 6/27/2003 at 11:32:21 AM ET LOL I knew it would be released on a Tuesday! It's funny, at first I thought it would be August 19th, but I was like "Would they really wait that long?" That's why I said I thought it would be either the first or second Tuesday in August.
"What's always so enjoyable about watching the actress and what makes repeat visits to her shows necessary is witnessing how her performance grows and changes; she never offers a by-the-numbers performance; it's always fresh and from her soul. And, her delivery of songs becomes more nuanced, more layered and more vocally astounding."
I couldn't agree more!

I wonder if Angel will create a video for this recording. I know they did promotional videos for Peters' first and last CD. Anyone know if they did one for her Carnegie CD?

From: New York City | posted: 7/1/2003 at 11:54:43 PM ET You know, I was wondering about that, too (making a video of the recording session.) They did something like that for The Producers, and a friend of mine got it for me, and I tell ya, it's a blast to watch. If you can't get to the theatre to see the show, that's the next best thing, because the actors really get into the roles (even though they're in the recording booth) and you get to see a lot of the motions and facial expression stuff they do on stage. Plus, the "backstage feel" is great.
Given all the publicity this show has gotten so far (The Tony awards performance -- plus, the celebs really seem to like it, which is always a gigantic boost) I think a video of the recording would be really profitable.

Registered: 3/10/2001 | posted: 7/2/2003 at 12:01:05 AM ET The video PTM is referring to was done as a promotional video mostly sent out to those in the industry. It wasn't available to the general public( unless of course a few found their way on Ebay). I agree a video of the Gypsy recording sessions would be fabulous!

From: New York City | posted: 7/2/2003 at 12:29:39 AM ET They did a promotional video for her CDs? I had no idea. All I know is that she's got the London Concert Hall DVD. I had no idea any others were released to the press and not the public (although I think one of the Into the Woods 10th Anniversary Concert was released to them, because some reviewers of AGYG have referred to it. Or clips from it. Or something along those lines.)

| posted: 7/2/2003 at 10:38:58 AM ET They do creep up on ebay sometimes. They show some of the recording but a lot of it is the producer or someone involved with the production of the CD that tells you how wonderful Bernadette is and how it is the best album she has ever done. That sort of thing. They are trying to give soundbites for the press to use. To my recollection, Bernadette doesn't speak on either one of them in the respect that she is not "interviewed" on them. To my knowledge they did not do one for her Carnegie Hall concert probably because it was a recording of a live event. I'm just not sure one of those videos would make sense for a live recording that had already received several reviews.
