They do creep up on ebay sometimes. They show some of the recording but a lot of it is the producer or someone involved with the production of the CD that tells you how wonderful Bernadette is and how it is the best album she has ever done. That sort of thing. They are trying to give soundbites for the press to use. To my recollection, Bernadette doesn't speak on either one of them in the respect that she is not "interviewed" on them. To my knowledge they did not do one for her Carnegie Hall concert probably because it was a recording of a live event. I'm just not sure one of those videos would make sense for a live recording that had already received several reviews.

I bought the R & H promotional video through ebay and it's exactly the way that Moljul describes. It's about ten minutes long or so and is basically a commercial. Bernadette doesn't speak to the camera but you do hear her talking to the musicians, thanking them and so forth. There are short excerpts of her recording a few of the songs but nothing extensive. It's interesting and worth getting if you're a big fan, but not by any means a must-have.

Right. I don't think anyone speaks on the first one at all. It would have been great if they had done one for Carnegie. They could have shown the audience literally leaping to its feet after "Being Alive." Broadway Beat has footage they could've use and even one of the news stations was there.

BTW Broadway.com's Stage Notes has some more on the Gypsy recording
