Well it wasn't a very long segment. Basically she and MTM talked about how much they both love animals, and they have a kiosk machine thing where you can adopt animals, and they want people to go to the shelters first to adopt pets rather than buying them, and something about a new law meaning no animals will be killed in NY (I don't really know much about that, that's the first I've heard of it)

But then when they were trying to end the segment, BP wanted to show them how the machine worked and they said they didn't have time and she just went ahead and started pressing buttons and the camera zoomed in and the guy was like "oh, look we're seeing how the machine works now" and he tried to push her hands away and was like "You just don't take no for an answer!". I thought it was pretty funny. They said they might go back to them later in the show to see how the machine works though

BP: You wanna see how the machine works? Or no?

Matt: Well, I don't really think we have time.

BP: Oh, ok.

*Hits the button*

BP: Oh, look! It turned on!

*Hits another button*

BP: Oh, look! A dog! Wow!

Matt: Oh, look, we're seeing how the machine works!

It was so funny! lol
Bernadette's face was priceless when she hit the button, even though they told her not to. She was like a mischevious child. lol too funny.

But ya know what, they should have let them show how the machine worked anyway. Bernadette even made a point of saying how Mary Tyler Moore and her husband (Dr. Robert Levine) put their own money into getting those machines built. The least those hosts could have done was give them an extra minute or 2 to show how it worked.
Good for Bernadette for pushing the button anyway, and not taking No for an answer.

The machine is pretty cool. It looks like an ATM, and they will be placed in shelters (and maybe pet stores soon...who knows). Also, they said that if the shelter or pet store doesn't have one of the machines, you can access the same information online.

The law they were talking about getting passed (about making NYC a No Kill City) is actually not new news. It's part of the reason they have Broadway Barks every year. But for those of you who didn't know about it until now, then it's good that Bernadette and Mary mention it when they are on these talk shows. We know that at least one more person heard about it for the first time today, and is now aware of how many animals are killed every year in NYC.

Yeah, that was the first I had heard about the no kill law, but then again I'm not from NY, and I'm not even from the States, so I thought it was new. We don't have anything like that here, though I think we should. The numbers of animals killed each year is absolutely staggering.

But, off of that subject, I thought she was just like a little kid too, doing exactly what she was told not to do, so funny!

It is really good too, to feature them on a show like that that so many people watch, to get the point across. I would have never even known about this Broadway Barks thing, since I don't get that Animal Planet thing, and I couldn't watch that, and then I read on here that they were going to be on the Today show and I was like "Yes! I get NBC!" so I could watch it.

Does anyone remember what hour or half hour the segment was in? Knowing that may save me some VCR search time!

It was around 8 a.m. which I found kind of surprising. I would have thought Bernadette would have tried to be in a later segment since she has to perform tonight. Though I guess Mary has to get to rehearsal for Rose's Dilemma so maybe it worked out for everyone involved.

I just wanted to complain because this has happened TWO days in a row! Yesterday I set my VCR to tape the Animal Planet thing, and it didn't work because my cable was message up so the entire half hour it should have been on, it was a blue screen with a message from the direct TV saying there were having technical difficulties. Today, I taped the Today Show and the same thing happened, but ONLY from about 7:45-9. So I missed both of the appearances
Oh well! Thanks for filling us in everyone!

I think it was that early because they both had to head over to Central Park to kick off an animal adopt-a-thon event. LOL I only just realize this because Bernadette and Mary were just on CBS news in Central Park (from something that was taped this morning).

So check your local news stations today because you might just see them on there.

The local New York ABC station has a short story on their web-site about today's animal event (I assume it was broadcast). Hope this link works--it's to a picture of Bernadette and Mary in Central Park; you can read the text of the news story here too --second link.

"They are such vibrant women that Matt and Katie didn't have a chance."

So says Ed Boks, New York's new director of CAC! All I know is, Bernadette certainly appears to know how to get what she wants! A role model for us all...

Hey. No SOUTH PARK hat. What's up with that?

Q: Any funny incidents or accidents with Kristin (Chenoweth)?

Norbert Leo Butz: I have this Errol Flynn moment where I swing in on this rope. One night in San Francisco, I let go of the rope and the rest of the actors started cracking up. I turned around and the rope had literally tied around Kristin's head and got caught on her crown and was pulling her off stage. It was like watching Barbie get hung.

I was so annoyed that the show didn't give the BP& MTM an early announcement the day before or even early on the show! What gives?! Bernadette was as cute as a button and such a monkey! She must be so much fun to be around! I thought she looked very tired though, and somewhat cold. What a trooper!
