What is it about Bernadette that makes her so appealing? What is it that attracts each of you to her? For me, I'd say the hair first of all (I don't know why, but I love red hair... I fall in love with men with red hair, and I idolize women with red hair, at least hair as pretty as BP's!). Plus I think she's just so cute, she makes me smile.

Hmmm what is it that makes her so special? She is "it" for me. The fact that she "becomes" her character and her songs. She has one of the best voices I have ever heard in my life and one of the best actresses I've ever seen. Not only that but she makes me have some kind of emotional response everytime I see her perform. I don't know anyone else in the world that can do that to me.

Bump it with a trumpet!

For me,Bernadette's appeal is the "sum of all her lovely parts"--but I especially love her eyes. There is a depth in them that reveals joy,pain,conviction,sincerity,gentleness,humor,-and her eyes draw me into her emotions so much that they often just break my heart!I really love this lady...

To the loveliest lady of song!
You will keep on giving me joy forever...

she's completely vulnerable... and she's not afraid to be totaly present when she does a project, whether it be on stage, on film, or in life. her relaxation, commitment, communication, and presence makes for a flawless class act without fail. and she listens.... she embodies the "it" factor to a "t". "you either got it, or you ain't" well, folks, she's got it!

can never say enough, but that's all for now b/c i'm tired and it's late... and i miss this board b/c i'm so busy, but i love reading it when i can... best to you all!

She's beautiful both inside and out.

And, too, she has more talent in her toes than some of the people I see on TV, in movies and in recording industry who make outrageous amounts of money.
She can sing (and exceptionally), dance, act (in both comedy and drama that can tear at your heart), and in every medium -- concerts, recordings, Broadway theater, movies, television. She gives her all in every performance.
She's an artist in the best and greatest sense.

And she seems a truly nice and good person who gives time and talent to causes she cares about. And like her good friend, Mary, she can turn the world on with her smile...

What more could you ask for?

And, yes, she's got "it."

And I think what you meant was:
je ne sais quoi
which is French for 'I don't know what' -- meaning, something difficult to describe or express, something elusive. And that is what "it" is.

It's the voice.

She has the ability to make you feel every word as if the song was happening to you.

The voice. The ability to empathize with the music and become it; she also has a very expressive face, a 1920's Myrna Loy look to her, which makes her singing all that more poignant. Plus, she comes off as warm, inviting, like someone you would want in your home, as a friend. I think personality counts for a lot. It's hard to love someone you don't think you'd want to know in real life, no matter how talented they are.

Q: Any funny incidents or accidents with Kristin (Chenoweth)?

Norbert Leo Butz: I have this Errol Flynn moment where I swing in on this rope. One night in San Francisco, I let go of the rope and the rest of the actors started cracking up. I turned around and the rope had literally tied around Kristin's head and got caught on her crown and was pulling her off stage. It was like watching Barbie get hung.
