I've heard a rumor(and yes I know these go around a lot)...but I'm just really curious...does Bernadette smoke? Or does anyone think she does? A friend told me that she did. I find it hard to believe with how health conscious she is---but I guess we all have our little bad habits.

I think we might have had this discussion already and she definitely does not. I don't think its anyone's business anyway.

In her own words: from an interview in "Next" magazine (not sure of the date, but within the last year).

"[Interviewer]
And you're looking great, as always. Any beauty secrets you'd like to pass along?

[Bernadette]Getting plenty of sleep is always great. It really is. And I have a girlfriend who's sending me a slant board, so I'll let you know how that works. And otherwise, I don't smoke, I don't drink much,I don't eat red meat. I stay out of the sun... All that stuff."

If she smoked I think that I'd have to see a therapist!

LOL-thanks Jean. I had to go to a physical therapist for some time, and that was in the workout room. I've seen it before-I just don't know the names of the types of equipment (other than treadmill, exercise bike,Stairmaster, etc). :-)

PTM, I don't know why that keeps happening to you when you put a link in. Maybe if you try not writing your name within your message.

Here is the link again.

Oh, drat, my link is messed up again. And I don't even write my name. I just filled out the signature field when I registered. Maybe I should remove my signature or hit the space bar a few times after I put in a link. Kevin???

Concerning smoking, here are a couple of relevant quotes from a TV Guide cover story profile done in Oct 1976, when she was starring in the Norman Lear sit-com "All's Fair". "A New York actress who knew her after "Dames at Sea" sneers "She's such a health evangelist, so righteous about it." Then later they quote Bernadette saying "I used to, when people smoked or drank, judge them instantly, and let them know what I thought. It was a bad flaw". So I would say the non-smoking/anti-smoking thing goes way back many years.

Karen - I'm so glad you posted that. I remembered reading her comment about judging people and it being a flaw, but had no idea where I had read it. Is that also the article that quotes Kris Kristofferson saying something about her maybe not liking people boozing around her etc.?

AHHHH! That sound just like I use to be! But I have bad smoke allergies and I sing, so I CAN'T be around it. People think that I'm a snob because I will leave a room or something because they are smoking but I really can't help it. I care what other people do to their bodies but it's their choice not mine. When people smoke and I recieve second hand smoke, it then becomes my choice. Okay enough of my soap box. I'm getting down now I promise!
