Where are George Seurat, particularly the one which inspired "Sunday in the Park..." hanging? I would love to go see them. He is so inspiring. This painting (the subject title) is one of my favorite paintings.

I just got back from London where I saw the origial "Bathers" painting. It was AMAZING and huge. LOL You walked in the room and it just totally dominated the whole space. It shimmered just like the musical says his work did. I even walked up close to it to see all the little brush strokes with no mixed colors. His various sketches and studies (like the one Jean linked) were on the wall beside it. Very interesting to see it in person. I'll have to make it to Chicago to see the la grande jatte painting that inspired Sondheim's musical.
