I know it's not a big deal to some, but I am a poor college student in Michigan and to think that in 30 days I will be seeing Bernadette in Gypsy is almost inconceivable. I'm only 19 and, unfortunately, you have to be at least 21 to check into a hotel in NY so it was quite a hassel trying to find someone over 21 to go with me. I will, no doubt, give a DETAILED recollection of the show upon my return!
I was doing some research from the website's archives so I'd know where the stage door is and I read that it usually takes Bernadette AN HOUR to come to the stage door?!? Is this correct? Every time I have seen a show, the performers have taken no longer than 15-20 minutes to come out. Even when I saw her in Indianapolis, it took her probably 20 minutes to come out (Here's a pic of Bern and I: http://www.bernadette-peters.com/cgi-bin/photoalbum.pl?action=viewpic&o=4&id=609&albumid=80 ) I won't mind the wait, but I'd better bundle up if I'm going to be waiting outside in December!

It is true that Bernadette can take up to about an hour to come out at the stagedoor. I think it was maybe about 45 minutes when I went. I think they main reason it takes so long is because after the show so many people go backstage and she must talk with them and other people that are there that night to see her. Like last Saturday, Billy Cyrstal was there so she was probably talking with him for a little while and then came out. It depends on the night you go.
