Billy Crystal was at Gypsy last night!!! He won the Rose's Turn necklace that Bernadette and John auctioned after the show for I believe went for $5500. I didn't even realize he was there until he stood up after winning. I was in the front row and he was about 5 rows behind me.

During the auction at first like no one was bidding and John said, " Did I forget to mention that this is Bernadette Peters, a two time tony award winner should have been three!" When he said that I cheer and threw my arm in the air just cheering not even thinking an auction is going on. So Bernadette looks right at me and says, "oh you right there how much did you say?" I freaked out but i said, "I'm sorry I don't have that kind of money I only have $10 left I already spent it all." So she says," Well, I hope you have enough for the bus fare home." and the entire theatre laughed and I was just freaking out because she is in her Rose's Turn dress speaking to me in front of an entire crowd of people! I just wanted to jump on that stage! Then when I went to the stagedoor she came out and looked at me and said, "hey your the $10 girl!!!" She remembered talking to me so I was so excited! It was by far the best day of my entire 17 years of life!

The show was amazing and I had the best time ever!!! My mom bought me one of the Rose pins that she wore in the show for Christmas and she let me wear it last night but I had to give it back.

BP Broadway Diva, I was there too. Were you the one who gave the solo standing ovation for one of her songs?I was in the 3rd row and Billy Crystal and his wife (i assume) were immediately behind me in the next row.

Do you have any idea who the guy sitting next to crystal's wife was since he was bidding furiously -- he's the guy who asked if they took credit cards? I couldn't tell if he and crystal were in cahoots to bumping the price up. At one point Crystal's wife bid an amount. B.Crystal later chimed in at $3000 since he half-stood when he yelled the bid...I think that's when BP realized that Crystal was in the audience since they waved to each other.

The bidding started at $100, and like BP B-way Diva said, and was slow to go up. Another remark made by John was that the previous night (friday) they auctioned off a necklace BP had worn that night for $1000, and we were a much better audience than they were.

At one point, when Crystal's bid was topped, he told his wife to "go ahead" --- meaning to go higher.

Funny note...when BP was describing the necklace to us she said that she had mistakenly told Friday's audience what that necklace was made of.

PA fan that was me standing after Rose's Turn I was at the edge of me seat the whole entire number that I just stood so quickly and then I realized I was the only one standing at first and then more people stood but not the entire theatre. It was incredible! I had a blast I can't wait to go again if my mother let's me. I'll just have to get there on my own!
