Just wanted to let everyone know that Cher was at the Saturday evening performance of Gypsy.

That figures!
I was in NYC on Saturday too; but I was at a friend's party uptown so I couldn't see Gypsy that night. It's probably good that I wasn't there because I am such a Cher fan...I don't know what I would have done if I saw her.

Cher looked fantastic. I as upset a little because some fans were being rude and interrupting her conversation with a friend for an autograph.

Barbara Walters was also there Sat Night. I heard it was her second time.

Actually, compared to most shows that I have seen. I've never really seen so many celebrities go to one particular show so often. I know its early on in the run...But just about every single time I have been there, there has been someone famous in the audience. And I know a lot of my friends have said the same thing.

I totally agree with you BwayBaby.

I have seen the show seven times now and there was not one time I have not seen a celebrity. I was there opening night of previews and Nicole Kidman was sitting right behind me.

Everyone wants to see Gypsy and who can blame them.

Last time I went, Edie Falco was there. Another time, Kiersten Dunst and Jake Gylenhall (sp?) were like 2 rows in front of me.

LOL I'm still waiting to hear if Bette Midler goes.

"Jake Gylenhall" I must be getting old. I have no idea who that is. I only saw critics when I went to Gypsy, except opening night which I don't count. Liza was supposedly at Nine when I was there, but I didn't see her.

Maybe Barbara Walters is thinking of doing a piece on Bernadette. Spielberg supposedly has gone twice as well, but with the news of his Sweeney Todd movie interest perhaps he's trying to get ideas or maybe Kate Capshaw is thinking of auditioning for Momma Rose.

How does the show hold up on its seventh, ninth, etc. viewing?

I dunno...Barbra seems to be a fan/friend of Beradette's. She was a Bernadette's Radio City concert as well.

Wow! Is it just me, or does Cher look like she gained weight? Maybe it's the outfit...or the fact that she's standing next to petite Bernadette, but her body looks bigger (not her head).

I should have watched the View on that Monday to see if Barbara mentioned it Oh well.

I think it's just a very very unflattering outfit and pose, plus Bernadette could make anyone other than a pixie look huge. Honestly, I didn't notice at first, because I couldn't get past the expression on Cher's face. Was anyone else thinking that "if you make that face long enough it'll freeze that way", and gosh, it happened?

I saw The View on Monday and Walters was there but didn't mention anything about Gypsy that I heard. Of course I think Harrison Ford was on that day so they were all fairly distracted.

Here's a silly question. Is she wearing a different wig now or are they styling it slightly differently? On the Tonys and in the picture mentioned in this thread, her wig looks slicker or tighter than it does in the clips on the CBS Sunday program and the opening night photos.

Yeah -- I noticed that (about the wig) looking at the picture. I think they changed the color and cut of the wig not too long ago. It used to be blonder and fuller. But given that the production is still relatively new I'm not surprised that they're playing with the costumes.
