From Internet Network: 205.188.209.x | posted: 5/31/2003 at 10:06:53 PM ET If Bernadette doesn't have anything left in her showbiz closet since she has been so generously donating her memorabilia to raise funds for this and Broadway Cares over the last 4 years or so, how about some of these as potential auction items:
Post-performance (non-matinee) backstage visit/photo op with Peters and other Gypsy cast members.
Since they haven't made it yet, I guess, a chance to sit in on part of the Gypsy cast album recording session.
If there's room and no union regulations prohibiting this, how about a chance to sit in the orchestra pit of Gypsy during a performance. (Wouldn't it be nice to see Marvin's face for a change?)
And surely, hopefully, if they made some kind of recording of her Radio City concert, how about selling a limited number of tapes featuring some highlights or the songs "What's the Use of Wond'rin?" / "This Nearly Was Mine" since only Marvin was accompanying her.
What do you all think?

Registered: 6/4/2001 | posted: 6/1/2003 at 9:10:08 AM ET PTM: Good ideas..I'd bid for a few of those! I seem to remember that over the last few years, Bernadette has offered, for Broadway Barks, BC/EFA, or the Actors' Fund, some similar things. Someone help me out here, but I think they offered a viewing of the final recording session of BP Loves R&H, and it went for a lot of money--over$1000???
One other idea: during AGYG, she wore an item of jewelry during the show and then auctioned it off at the end of the show...what fun that must have been.
(I guess she (or Patty) could pass the hat while she's signing autographs.)

| posted: 6/1/2003 at 10:31:26 AM ET Didn't they have (one year) a chance to bid on a small walk-on part in AGYG? Of course that was a bigger cast; people might notice an out-of-place Hollywood Blonde. lol Then again, they could have someone walk on as one of the waiters/waitresses in the restaurant scene?

Registered: 3/10/2001 | posted: 6/1/2003 at 11:02:34 AM ET LOL Jean you crack me up. Technically that wouldn't be a "walk on" if they were the lamb wrangler. I actually ran into Marge( the animal handler) this weekend with Coco and Peanut. Coco had a little diaper on LOL Could those dogs be any cuter?!?!

From Internet Network: 64.12.96.x | posted: 6/1/2003 at 2:12:14 PM ET Let's see the only places I could think of where they could sneak in a walkon who wouldn't dirupt the show might be the burlesque house where people are kind of walking around as Louise prepares for her first strip or maybe in the "wings" when Baby June is doing her first number and there are those people who look like they're supposed to be the next vaudeville act waiting to go on.
Or for a special fundraising performance, how about everyone's "favorite person" at the Post going on as Mr. Goldstone. Goldstone doesn't get to say a word and then Rose can really shove that eggroll in his mouth.

I was actually considering donating some theatre memorablia-like stuff for Broadway Barks. But it just seems like people haven't been bidding on a whole lot in the past. Seems like the Gypsy related stuff is auctioning well though
