That was actually kind of a funny moment. They had taken their regular bows and John Dossett had handed out the roses and then several members of the cast were trying to get Bernadette to come out front for a major solo bow. It took them a couple of seconds to convince her but in the mean time, the stage manager decided it was time to lower the curtain. So when Bernadette finally started to step forward while pulling Tammy Blanchard with her, the curtain starting coming down and was just about to come down on her head so then several cast members pulled her back to avoid the curtian banging her in the head. The curtain stopped about half way down when whoever was lowering it realized they were about to knock Bernadette down. So then she and Tammy just started goofing around, stepping forward, stepping back, stepping forward, stepping back. Do I go, or do I stay, do I go or do I stay. LOL If you look at the picture carefully, you can see Bernadette is still holding Tammy's hand trying to bring her with her.

There are also a lot of great quotes from the Gypsy opening night party. Lots from the cast members and many talking about working with Bernadette. The overwelming theme is what a hard working, dedicated professional she is. That is indeed high praise for someone who has reached her level of theater status.

It's called something like Quotable lines from Gypsy or something like that. The last time I checked the link was still on the front page of broadway.com

Those quotes are so wonderful and moving. Everyone in the cast raves about the hardworking talented performer that Bernadette is, it's just so nice! I especially loved the quote by Arthur Laurents about Bernadette "Listen , how many parts are there like Rose? It is fitting that this be the pinnacle. I dread to think what she has to do after this--play King Lear instead of Rose Lear!" LOL!

LOL I was cracking up during the curtain call! (but only after I knew she realized it. I was actually concerned that she would get hurt if they kept bringing the curtain down while she was standing there).
Bernadette was so funny about the situation. She had no idea what was going on for a minute, and then when she realized the curtain was coming down on her head, she looked up like, "Oh My God! Where do I go; foward or back!?"
