Yes it was. Seeing her do those shows was very special. I also had a chance to talk to her when she was a guest when the New Dramatists presented Bernadette with the Lifetime Achievement Award. She was very kind and gracious.

"Oh no, you won't. No, not a chance. No arguements, shut up and dance." -You'll Never Get Away From Me

"And if it wasn't for me then where would you be Miss Gypsy Rose Lee?" -Rose's Turn

I loved her documentary "Elaine Stritch: Just Shoot Me". She was a legend in every way. I especially enjoyed the very last scene (during the credits) where she sings "Losing My Mind" and then forgets Bernadette's name (or actually....mistakenly....refers to her as Nanette Fabray). Then (after realizing her mistake) quipped "That's not going to go over well. Don't cut it. I want her to see it." I'd be interested to know how they got along behind the scenes. Elaine is such an open book, and Bernadette is so reserved and private. I bet it was an interesting dynamic. What a huge loss. I regret not making it to NYC to see ALNM (or Follies for that matter). I wish I could see Bernadette's (and Elaine's) acclaimed performances. I wish they had been preserved in some way for the rest of us to see. I've seen isolated songs from the audience recording on YouTube, but haven't been lucky enough to stumble upon the whole shows. Maybe one day......
