I saw this title on Playbill on got SO excited for our friends across the ocean: "Bedella, Peters and Pellow Join Starry Cast of London Chess Concerts"

Alas, it's not OUR 'Peters'

Haha, that's so funny because I saw the same heading and thought it said "Bedelia" instead of "Bedella" and got excited because I thought it was referring to Bonnie Bedelia. I can only wish.

Did Peters, whose character is a Broadway baby transplanted to Ireland, have any qualms about playing a lesbian, even in a family-friendly movie? "I was more nervous about playing Jewish," she notes, adding her trademark giggle. "And having to be an actress who read Chekhov."---this just cracks me up

Oh, if only it had been the right Peters.

BUT ... on Sunday, 4th of May, I'll be over-dosing on Divas. I'll be seeing Maria Friedman's new show, "Maria Friedman: Re-arranged" at the Menier Chocolate Factory in the afternoon ... then, in the evening, I'll be at the London Palladium for a Crusaid charity performance of "Jerry Herman's Broadway" with Herman, Angela Lansbury, Barbara Cook, among others.

Jerry Herman will be scratching his head trying to think who he can get to sing "Time Heals Everything" for us London folk ....... here's my suggestion -- Bernadette, Bernadette, Bernadette!!!.

"There’s a lot in the world for us to turn our attention to — helping people, helping animals, and helping animals help people." ... Bernadette Peters, August, 2007
