I just thought I'd introduce myself since I just signed up for this message board. I am a very recent fan of Ms. Peters...probably for about the last two months. I've always liked her, but not quite to the level that I do now. One day, I was browsing on YouTube, saw her powerhouse performance of "Rose's Turn" from the Tony's and am now totally hooked. I'm determined to see all of her movies and own or hear all of her recordings. I'm actually doing pretty well so far and it's so exciting. I am just continually amazed by this woman's massive talent in both film, music and theater. I don't know if I've ever been so drawn to a performer to such a degree...there is just something about her, maybe those haunting eyes, that just pulls you in and you just can't look away. And as Mary Tyler Moore's character in The Last Best Year so perfectly puts in, "I'm just so touched by her." She has that incredible ability to make me laugh and then cry seconds later.
Wow, I'm really babbling...sorry folks. I wish I could properly put into words how much respect I have for Ms. Peters, but I am not really that eloquent with my words.
I guess I'm really just preaching to the choir anyway, as all of you great people surely understand and respect her wonderful talent and my words really aren't anything new.
So, anyway, hello all and I'm excited to join this great group.

So true. Quite apart from her considerable acting ability - it is her singing voice that I just find so amazing. There's so many layers there and I just wish we had more recordings to enjoy. I also deeply respect her dedication to Broadway Barks and admire how much she does for the neglected and abandoned animls of her city. She's a terrific woman.

From: Edinburgh, Scotland | posted: 10/18/2006 at 6:47:33 AM ET Disc Four is pretty amazing because it contains that incredible "Rose's Turn" from the Tony Awards - plus the Actors Studio episode. I also enjoy it because there's an extraordinairy version of Some People on Regis & Kelly where Bernadette is giving the song her all and then rushes out through a door on the set only to reappear a few seconds later for the big finish! It's quite bizarre and always make me laugh.
