| posted: 8/5/2005 at 11:16:33 PM ET Well I do!
She was at The Paris Letter. I was serving as a volunteer usher tonight and in she walked with Patty. Looking very lovely in a summery dress that I don't think I've seen before.
John McMartin, her co-star in Pennies From Heaven had come in about 10 minutes before she did so I went up to her and told her he was in the row in front of her, on the opposite side of the orchestra. I wasn't sure if she was all that thrilled that he was there but she went up to him after the play so I guess I did good.
During intermission I had to stand up at the stage, looking into the house so I got to observe her a bit (without trying to look like I was staring at her). So I got to witness a rather amusing "Pass the Yawn" between she and Patty during intermission. You know how when you are with a person and they yawn and it makes you yawn and so on. Well I think Bernadette started it but they kept passing it back and forth.
Anyway, fun evening.

Do you think it was the play itself that was causing the yawning fit?

The play is okay but the acting is really wonderful. I was watching my watch a little bit (which is not a good sign) but that didn't mean it was putting me to sleep - just didn't keep my attention.
Though apparently I did drift off for a minute as I was not able to confirm for my friend sitting next to me which of the young men were more well endowed in their full frontal naked scene. She was able to offer her opinion. Did I just type that?

Don't you wish you had a camera?
I wonder if she doesn't see some of these shows just because she knows someone in them and she's obviously very supportive?
I wonder what her true taste in theater is?

And there were lots of reasons to see The Paris Letter (Ron Rifkin, Michelle Pawk and John Glover - Bernadette's co-star in David) or she may just wanted to see the play. It's also a Roundabout Production so maybe she has a subscription. Even though the play has received mixed reviews its being doing quite well at the box office.
And just to save face: my friend brought up the discussion of the young men. Of course I wouldn't indulge in such talk.

She has referred to Patty as her friend and assistant and she was also one of her Bridesmaids.
