That one pic (her headshot from Gypsy), when she played a Hollywood Blonde....doesn't really look anything like her! Just an observation.

The pic next to it (when she was a little girl) is adorable; the one in photo album (same as in biography section). It reminds me of when she was on Name That Tune LOL She was so cute on that show!

Actually I supplied both those pictures to Kevin. I'm not sure exactly where I got them from but I've had them for a while. The younger one I have labeled as 1958 so she was 10. I think it might be from the Hallmark Christmas Special "A Christmas Tree". That show was really cute. I didn't recognize Bernadette when I saw it and had to identify her by process of elimination. There were lots of kids in the show. And a very young Jessica Tandy which was really cool.

I think it is a doll she is holding. The picture is cropped but that's what it looks like.

Bernadette did definitely have a stronger Queens accent when she was little. Her appearance on Name That Tune at the age of 5 is a particularly strong example. It's been a while since I've seen The Christmas Tree. She didn't have a ton of lines but I don't think it was a particularly bad accent. She did have a really adorable crying scene. The story took place in an orphanage. There were a lot of kids but maybe 5 or 6 had lines and were the main kids of the story. Bernadette was one of them. By the way, I'm just guessing that picture is from that show. It might have been from another show she did around that time or maybe it was just her headshot at the time.

I saw them at the Museum of Television and Radio in New York City. If you ever make it to NYC, I highly recommend a visit to this museum. There is the Name that Tune and Christmas Tree appearances and lots of her appearances on the Johnny Carson Show which are a lot of fun to watch. I would also recommend the 1983 Oscar awards where Bernadette does an amazing song and dance number with Peter Allen.
