I'm confused because I thought the original version of the Goodbye Girl had Richard Drefyuss and some other girl. Is Bernadette in another version or something?

Yes, Bernadette was in a musical on Broadway called "The Goodbye Girl", taken from the movie, from Mar 4, 1993 - Aug 15, 1993. Her co-star was Marty Short.

(The actress in the original movie is Marsha Mason, then-wife of Neil Simon.)

That other girl is one of the greatest actresses to ever grace the screen....Marsha Mason. She's not your typical Hollywood Starlet, but she is one heck of a good actress.

Many of you have probably seen her before in a few things and perhaps don't realize it. She was in:
Life With Judy Garland-Me and My Shadows
Drop Dead Fred
Nick of Time
Stella
I Love Trouble
Dinner At Eight
Cinderella Liberty
Cyrano De Bergerac
Broken Trust
Restless Spirits

She also played Frasier's Father's girlfriend on the tv show Frasier for a while.

Christine: I'm seeing Marsha Mason in "Wintertime" at Second Stage in February--I'll let you know how she is in person.
