There's also an article about Ethel Merman and Gypsy in the November issue of Opera News. I've only skimmed the article, but I thought it was interesting that Merman supposedly earned 5% of the gross and then 7% after the show returned its investment.

There's also a positive review of the Gypsy recording in this month's Playbill magazine.

The Opera News Merman article is a great read with interesting commentary on her voice and some juicy stories and quotes about her colorfully bombastic personality. I think even the Merman haters on the board would find it very entertaining and informative. There's some Gypsy gossip that I was unaware of, like for example, that Sandra Church was romantically involved with Jule Styne. Anyway, read it yourself--it's good.
