I saw Gypsy last night. I got there at 5:30 and gave Rose a letter and a picture for Bernadette. Peter Scolari was hanging out there, and I saw the lamb and dog go in.
The show was PERFECT. I was in the front row, so I could see everything. Bernadette really lost it during Rose's Turn (in a good way). When she did "Ma..." the entire theatre was dead silent. I was the only one who gave her a standing ovation after that song, but she sure as hell deserved it. It was too powerful to describe. After that, she was crying so much that she could hardly get her lines out. The entire cast was fantastic. Mazeppa was especially good.
After the show, I saw Bernadette at the stage door and she thankd me for the photo. What a wonderful lady.
