From: Boston | posted: 8/21/2003 at 7:56:13 PM ET Ok so I was belting out "Everything's Coming up Roses" along with Bernadette in my car this afternoon, and I was doing the gestures she does in the show, and as I was pointing out toward Louise as Rose does on the last note, the car next to me pulled up and gave me a werid look. I guess if I saw an 18 year old boy singing and throwing his arms around like a crazy woman in his car I would give a look also. Just a fun tidbit of my day.

When listening to Sondheim Ect. one day, after singing Broadway Baby at the top of my lungs, I tried to do the well-known end pose that Bernadette always does at the end of a passionate song...you know the one where she sticks her arms out and throws her headback(the one on the cover). This is impossible to do in the driver's side of a tiny Honda accord and ended up looking like an idiot. My mom still makes fun of me to this day!

Well, to say the least I had on Sondheim etc. and You could drive a person crazy was on. This one man walked by the desk right during the do do do's part and he gave me this look like what are you listening to and then everytime there is the applause I hear people saying did you hear clapping? I was hysterical!

I was listening to Mr. Goldstone...and I pulled into my parking spot at school and threw the door open without turning the car off first and I'm just belting along (totally under pitch b/c it was like 7:30 adn my voice was like blegh)..and like 8 people turn and look at me b/c I was singing as I walked to class "Have a goldstone Mr. Eggroll!" and then on the way to work last night I was singin Rose's Turn (song STILL makes me cry) and I about hit a parked car...was NOT a fun picture lol

Registered: 8/7/2003 | posted: 8/21/2003 at 10:55:14 PM ET Ok, so one day I had to drive my mom to work because her car was in the shop and it was like 7am and I took the highway home instead of the Turnpike because I didn't want to waste money on a toll if I didn't have to be anywhere. Aaaanyway, I was in Newark (those of you who don't know, it's not the nicest area in NJ) stopped at a red light, and I was blaring AGYG and singing obnoxiously loud. Needless to say, I turned it down because I was afraid I'd get shot after some of the looks I got. Those are the funniest moments though when you just get lost in the music and then suddenly realize "wait there's actually stuff going on around me." Good stories, guys!

I sing in the car ALL the time, radio, tape, whatever's on.
Since first seeing "Gypsy," I've been singing "Everything's Coming Up Roses" almost every morning, full tilt, driving to work. This week, since getting the CD, I've switched to "Some People."
But I don't have the music on tape in my car; I'm singing a cappella as loud as I can.
Aaannnddd... I have a convertible.
I'm certain there are some people (especially in this rather conservative area) you are thinking: "Now there's one crazy chick!!"
But, I'm way old enuf to not care (that's what "Some People" is about, besides).
Sing out, Louise!
And all "Gypsy" fans too!

From: New York City | posted: 8/23/2003 at 1:19:10 AM ET I'm visiting a friend out in PA right now, and today we took a trip out to Philadelphia. We sang showtunes on the train going in. We sang showtunes as we walked the streets. We sang showtunes in the restaurant. You should have seen the looks we got when we crossed the street singing, "And you can't get a male in the tail like a quail. OOOOOOHHHHHH.... you can't get a man with a guuuuuuuunnnnn!" The looks we got, especially since we had out a map and a magazine of good, historic places to visit. I can just imagine what the locals must have been thinking. "Damn tourists get $%^&ing crazier every year."

It is the song I was least familiar with from "Gypsy" and I wondered why, because it's so lovely. I guess other songs are so strong, overwhelming it. It's so flirty. Really noticing on the CD how well BP and John Dossett's voices blend. Good stuff....
