Hi everyone!

Did anyone here happen to catch Tyne Daly on "The Nanny" last night on the Lifetime Network? The reason I'm asking is because there was one comedic moment on the show that only Gypsy fans would get!

It was the last scene in the show and just as she was about to leave, she (Tyne) was telling Fran about how she was getting married. Her husband-to-be had just built this brand new room for her and she was absolutely thrilled. She exclaimed, "He made it for me! For me! FOR ME! FOR ME!!!" The audience didn't really catch on but I was in stitches for a while! Thank God the writers on that show were thinking of us die-hard theatre geeks when they were putting that episode together!

I saw that epsiode a few years ago (and many times since then) and I cracked up at the Gypsy line. I noticed the studio audience didn't really get it, but I thought it was very clever.

That was a very good show. I also liked another episode when Maxwell was casting a new show and he was getting so annoyed by all of these people coming in to audition, then Carol Channing walked onto the stage and sang the first note of "Hello, Dolly!" and he screamed, "NEXT!" LOL

By the way, Bernadette was mentioned on an episode. It was during the last season, and Fran and Niles were attempting to prodcue their own play and Niles was upset that he couldn't get a hold of Bernadette peters' agent, so Fran called up pretending to be her Husband's production company and said, "This is Shefield/Babcock Productions, and we would like to speak to Bernadette Peters' agent ASPCA." LOL I wish Bernadette would have been on at least one episode considering it had a lot of Broadway focus.

I'm laughing right now just thinking about it! (Especially the ASPCA. Only a true Bernadette fan would get that line!) I wish I would have seen that episode!

The Nanny is absolutely my favorite TV show! I saw that the other night and also died laughing at the Gypsy line. The Carol Channing one was also funny. When they mentioned Bernadette's name ont that last season episode, I was hoping that they would at least have someone dress up and imitate her like they did Barbara Streisand. Kudos to The Nanny! By the way, does anyone remember the "My Fair Nanny" episode?

Bump it with a trumpet!

Only a true Bernadette fan would get the ASPCA line? Why? What does it mean?

I remember EVERY Episode. LOL I just don't know the titles of any of them.

Was the "My Fair Nanny" episode the one where C.C.'s Father came to visit and he got tickets to Barbra's concert, or was that the one where Niles and Maxwell tried to change the way Fran spoke and dressed...and she came down the stairs with a very conservatie outfit and her hair pulled back into a tight bun in order to impress Maggie's friends and their parents?
