...I found her Tonys performance of "Roses Turn" on WinMx....so just to let those of u who download stuff know that it's online!  I'm gonna put it on my shared folder for those interested in downloading it hehe.

It's a downloader like Kazaa or whatever downloader that u use. It's looks are similar to that of Napster
http://www.winmx.com u can go there and download it (it's free). And you can go and download music files, video files, I even found that u can download movies--such as Shrek (I don't have the file space to download something that large!!!)
But I heard from a friend of mine that they're-(as in authorities like police or something?) are cracking down on those who download music online. I know that people have been caught and have been fined hundreds of dollars. :-/ soo I'm quite scared LOL (but i don't share many files to people anyway because my computer doesn't, I guess 'react' well when people download from me. But I just have a few that people can download so it's all good

Hey Stacy,
Thanks for the info...I just downloaded WinMx, but I am so lost now!! It's really complicated, and I don't know how to search for the performance or anything. I looked her up in the video AND audio category and nothing came up. This is really hard for me since I'm so used to using Kazaa, which is for people who are completely clueless about computers. HELLP!

i think you're ok with the downloading if you don't do a lot. from what i understand, they're cracking down on the people who download hundreds of files all the time. i was scared too...lol. and thanks for the info!!

Can you get a computer virus from using winmx? THat is the main thing that keeps me away from sites like that. Let me know!!!

Um...when I found the file, there was only 1 person who had it--I think it's somewhat rare for now, but I'm hoping that my file will show up when u search, (My username is smileandlaugh201 -which is probably followed by a bunch of numbers or something..I don't really understand that...) ok..
To search, once u'r connected to WinMx, click on the search tab (for those who used Napster, this is similar to that; NOTE: I've never used Kazaa lol sorry folks!) I typed in "Bernadette Peters"- in the upper blank (to me, I use the upper blank for the artist/group name, and the lower blank for the song name). After a few seconds, you should see results popping up. The search will be complete when after a while, u stop seeing new results pop up.
If you see the file that you are looking for, double-click on the file. It will send you to the 'transfer' tab and it will show you how the progress of your download (make sure that you know the folder u'r downloads are going to). [If your download is incomplete- then you will see it next time u log on- I can explain this later on if u guys need me to.]
I don't think that there are any video files of the performance online--I've done searching to see if she has any video files and there aren't any. I'd also be aware that some people might mis-label the files and there might be some inappropriate video files such as porn or something on there. So beware of that.
The time now is 7:44pm Central time; which is 8:44pm Eastern I believe?...soo I'm going to keep my computer online for the rest of the evening...(I now have a limit cuz my parents complain of me being on too much) I'll try to come on as often as possible for this so u guys can try to download it off of me.
Also, to answer mrbig's question about viruses--As far as when I download music (I've downloaded A LOT), I've never gotten viruses--I don't know if that's possible (if someone can answer that, pls do cuz I don't really know).
You can also set your computer to shut down after your downloads have completed downloading. (Like if u wanted to continue downloading, but it's late so u'r gonna sleep). You can right click on the MX icon in the little area by the clock, and select 'Shutdown when Xfers stop'. If you select 'Exit when Xfers stop', then that just means that u want WinMx to CLOSE once u'r downloads are finished. But ultimately it's up to u- I just thought I'd point that out.

If only I could email the mp3 to u guys I would--but it's somewhere around 3.5MB or something over the 3.0MB attachment limit on Yahoo.

I would love to download the Mp3 file and have searched or it on Kazaa and WinMx daily since she performed it on the Tonys but with no luck. If someone who has it could email me the file at Chip1012@hotmail.com I would be forever grateful!!!

Ok...I've been thinking--it seems that no one can find me on WinMX- or is having difficulty (I'm trying to keep it online a lot now- but i don't know if I'm visible on the search window).
I'm thinking about downloading Kazaa--to further enhance the chances of u guys being able to find the file and download it.
Question is: Since I don't use Kazaa---is it worth downloading? Like is it good, easy to navigate etc.?

KazAa? Hmmm... My sister and I have both used this to download music on our respective computers, but it's not the best "share-ware" around because it is loaded with spyware. (Which, if you don't know, is the word for data files that are hidden in your download, and are used to either collect info from your harddrive and send it out every time you download, or cause a lot of problems - like more pop up ads, etc.)For this reason, a lot of people use KazAa Lite instead, because it has all the perks of regular KazAa but seems to be fairly free of spyware.
However, my sister told me the other day (I haven't downloaded anything in months) that KazAa was shut down in much the same manner Napster was. Keep in mind I have NO idea whether this is true or not since I haven't downloaded anything in months, but this is what I was told. And if KazAa was shut down it's likely that its sister software was shut down as well.
My friend Nickie uses something called "Bear Share" which I have never used, but which she says is quite reliable. (Her boyfriend works in computers and uses it, and he's very picky.)

But I just visited http://www.kazaa.com --and there's like some new version of Kazaa Media Desktop.
I also found this link from the site regarding the "No Spyware Policy"

Well..an update...I tried Kazaa last night, and it just made my already crappy computer even worse LOL. 
Sooo...I had to uninstall it sorry guys.
I'm also sorry -I've been getting replies from some of you who haven't been able to find me online.- Well I guess it's just a matter of when I can also get online. We're obviously on @ different times which makes it a bit tricky to find the most opportune time to search and find it.
I SOOO WISH I COULD EMAIL THIS b/c it would be soo much more easier--but it's oversized- therefore I can't send it as an attachment.
Question: for AIM users out there, do u know if there's a limit on file size when sending files (not using "Direct Connection")?-anyone know what I'm talking about? -maybe that might work?
Should I post what times I will keep WinMx online or something too?-or PM me w/ covenient times that u'll be on so I can try to get online so u can search for me?
(Also, sometimes when I search for something, and then I see it- the person might just log out at the moment that I double click for it to download. If u go back to the 'Search' window, u'll see the file in a yellow type of highlight I guess....keep that on the window, if u'd like to refresh or search for the same thing, hit below big 'Search' button, click on 'Search in New Window'. Sometimes, I'm 'remotely queued', I'll search for the artist/song again, and it won't show up on the window even tho I'm 'remotely queued'. I don't know why it doesn't show up, but don't let that worry u. -(If I confused you w/ this info, I appologize--I'm just letting those new to WinMx know some of the stuff that I've observed when I use it)

Good news to AIM users! I can send the file via AIM! YAY!
Pls. contact me to let me know when u'r online--maybe i can schedule it up b/c I can only send it 1 @ a time. -Or else it'll drive me and u insane!
But if u do not have AIM- or can talk to me by IM but u have AOL--i'm sorry, but the transfer will not work
Soo..if are still having trouble WinMX--keep trying--I had someone talk to me on IM..and we were both on Winmx-but she couldn't find the song?! So I don't know what is up w/ WinMX..
When I'm on WinMX:
Weekday afternoons, between noon until ? (central time)
Factors that affect me being not on it:
1. My brother who uses the internet for playing games.
2. My internet--if I'm idle on the the browser for about 15 mins, it disconnects.
3. My mom--who makes me shut down..b/c I'm on the computer A LOT LOL
So please contact me if u have AIM so I can send it to u there.
