I see that this year's Broadway Barks will be on July 12. I think a few of you are volunteers or otherwise associated. That might be a good opportunity for fellow chatters (that's not a good word--help, please) to say "HI".

Hey I wondering...

Gypsy is long, right? I've heard approximately 3 hours. Is Broadway Barks going to start later or is Bernadette not going to host it? I think she usually naps between matinee and evening performances, so I was wondering how that all fits together. Just curious.

Jean: sounds like a fun idea

At this point in previews, Gypsy is running just under 3 hours but it is not meant to be that long. It's just that the cast is still setting the pacing. It will probably end up being around 2 1/2 hours by the time opening night rolls around. I am very involved with Broadway Barks and assume I would have been told by now if BP was not hosting. And I can't imagine anything (except extreme illness or injury) that would keep her from her hosting duties. Broadway Barks is her baby! But no, she doesn't get a nap on that particular day. She usually comes over as soon as she can after the matinee and tries to leave by about 7-7:15 so she can get ready for the 8 p.m. show. But Patty is usually shoving her out the the door as reporters continue to clamor for her attention.

Well, fortunately for her she doesn't have to go very far. Just right outside the door.
