From: Edinburgh, Scotland | posted: 3/5/2008 at 1:09:10 PM ET I don't know if any of you know about a young American woman called Andrea Ross --- she's the latest Andrew Lloyd Webber protege.
I came across this British interview where she's asked If you had to write a musical based on a famous person’s life and you had the choice to pick somebody, who would it be and why?
This is her answer ...Oh that’s a really good question! (Laughs) Let’s see. I’ve always really been inspired by and looked up to Bernadette Peters. She’s an American actress and she’s in a lot of theatre back at home. I’ve always wanted to model myself after her because she’s just had such an incredible life and she also started out very young and had a hard time when she was touring at such a young age. I thought that it was really interesting how she’s grown so much from that.
I wonder if ALW was listening?
Andrea

"Particular mention must be made of Bernadette Peters, who turns up briefly in a sort of sparkly Glinda the Good costume. She's the reluctant muse sent to help Alice with her writing. The muse is dressed like Oz, sounds like Queens and behaves like a bored student adviser." Alice Film Review, The New York Times, December 25, 1990
"I'm one star away from Dolly Parton ... and Raymond Massey is between us. I hope we don't suffocate him." Bernadette Peters receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, April 24, 1987

But if he gets huffy about it he can write the lyrics.

From: Edinburgh, Scotland | posted: 3/5/2008 at 4:46:36 PM ET Oh, Stevie and Andy will have to fight it out between themselves. They can settle the matter by just doing that Hey Mr. Producer "Duelling Piano" thing again.
My real concern is who will play the role of Bernadette?
Andrea is far too young, and Bernadette playing herself is clearly out of the question ... so, who?

From: Edinburgh, Scotland | posted: 3/6/2008 at 8:32:39 AM ET Word is that Bernadette and Mr Sondheim went to see Sunday In The Park With George last night. Wouldn't you just love to have been a fly on the wall afterwards?
