For those of you living in the New York area, you may remember that Bernadette was a guest on the Fox Morning News last summer. I believe it was as publicity for Broadway Barks. Anyway, those of you who saw it may remember the guy who interviewed her was the weather man for Fox 5 and he was contemplating adopting a dog from the ASPCA. He said on the program he had visited the dog several times. Well I was just watching The Animal Planet program, Animal Precinct, and the last story was of the weather man adopting the dog. The dog was a beautiful golden retriever that was left in a junk yard and was very neglected. He was captured with 2 other dogs. They were all very thin and grossly infected with ticks. All the dogs survived and this little one was adopted by the weather man. He was riding along with his paw on the guy's arm obviously knowing he had been officially rescued.

Long Story Short - adopt an animal from a shelter.

Awwww that's great news! Grrr.. I really need to get ANIMAL PLANET( then I could also watch that pet psychic lady and laugh at her LOL)!

I agree. If you are looking to adopt a dog or cat don't go a pet store or a breeder go to your local shelter! I've been to the CACC(in NYC) several times in the past few years and I can't even tell how many ADORABLE dogs and cats they have there!! I wanted to take them all home with me!

As I side note...I don't think I have ever mentioned this before...But I believe it was the same channel ( FOX 5) only a year earlier that Bernadette had a beagle on her lap while talking about pet adoption. Well, one of her former "coworkers" from AGYG adopted the dog. He is adorable!! I don't know about you but I always wonder about these adorable animals I see on TV and HOPE they get adopted by a nice family! And I definitely agree with Bernadette...animals know when they've been rescued and are eternally grateful!

I love hearing stories about animals that were saved and adopted.

Cindy, you really do have to get animal planet. LOL I don't watch the pet Phsycic (she's too weird), but I love the show "A Pet Story." It follows the story (and process) of people who want to adopt a pet. One show had a mom and her son finding his new best friend in an animal shelter.

Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters should do a little special on that channel (well, maybe after Gypsy) LOL
Or the channel should at least interview them about Broadway Barks and do like a "Behind-the-Scenes" thing about how the different shelters and the Broadway community come together in NYC to help make it a no kill city.

For some reason I'm pretty sure ANIMAL PLANTET was at Broadway Barks this year. And I faguely remember someone saying they were there to film some stuff to show at a later date.

PS-- Its not really the fact that the pet pyshic is weird that bothers me....its that I believe she is full of...well, you know, doggy-doo(haha).Who knows, there probably is *somebody* in the world who does have some sort of capability to communicate with animals but I personally do not believe its her.
