Who is making the cake for Bernadette's birthday? If she wants to see age 59 it shouldn't be me.

I don't have the counterspace to bake...I'll be at the Met tomorrow night for Romeo & Juliette and will drink a champagne toast for Bernadette!

I'll be eating a King Cake and at parades all day tomorrow!

(Today is restaurant day. Yesterday was parades all day uptown-got there at 11 AM and left St. Charles Ave--the Avenue-- around 11:30 PM. A wonderful, wonderful day. A bittersweet Mardi Gras, for sure.)

The challenge for visiting reporters: Summing up a city's soul, in 500 words or less

I hope she can have a good day tomorrow, even though she may not feel like celebrating. Another first tomorrow.

Exactly Jenn. I hope she has a good day even though it will be a hard one.

Fortunately The Met does not sell champagne in plastic 42 oz big gulp tumblers.

I decided the cup that Sister Rose's champagne was in was a recycled gaming cup. Remember, back in the day, when casinos gave out plastic cups to put your winnings in??? They just use them for champagne now

Mandy, I believe you are quite right. Those plastic cups are only good when weighed down properly with quarters.

I will get a donut with my coffee tomorrow morning and put a candle in it. No I won't; but I will think of Bernadette tomorrow.

Tomorrow is in, like, 5 minutes. hehe

hi! I'm a new member to this, but not a new Bernadette fan! I've been on this site for a while, I was just too shy to post! haha. But I thought BP's birthday was a good time! I am having a pizza party and having everyone bring a donation to broadway barks instead of a gift! I just baked a funfetti cake! It's nice to see lots of other BP fans.

When the end is right, it justifies... the beans!

OMG! Funfetti cake is just the best cake ever!
I made one a few weeks ago, WITH funfetti frosting.

Welcome.

I feel so deprived that I have never had a funfetti cake. I did a Google search and I'm thinking that it involves a Pillsbury cake mix?

I'm exhausted and too lazy right now to do anything more than a cursory search.

It IS Pillsbury cake mix. It's like a white/yellow cake batter with colors (from melted sprinkles I guess) in the powder.
The Funfetti frosting is Vanilla with little colorful sugar dots that look like confetti.

Yes, I am a total loser for being so excited to describe Funfetti cake; but it's really SO good. lol
