Just wanted everybody to know that, since I think a lot of you have Kazaa.

| posted: 10/1/2002 at 4:40:40 PM ET I think it's wrong to download songs in the first place, unless you also plan to buy the cd! It takes away from the artist. I'm glad they've been going after these sites.

From: MN | posted: 10/1/2002 at 10:39:27 PM ET I have to comment on this hehe...
I am in the middle with this situation. I use WinMx, and I burn lots of cds often.
I don't like to download all songs from a cd...I mean, I'm better off buying the cd because the cd has better quality overall and lyrics in the cd jacket etc. Besides, I somehow have this feeling of guilt towards copying/burning an entire cd for a friend or someone. I just feel that since this has been very controversal, I might as well help out buy actually buying the cds. Also, downloading songs from a cd takes lots of time, I just don't want to do that.
But then again...I do like to download songs that I like...if there was a song that i liked on a particular cd, and I didn't like anything else on the cd, I wouldn't buy the cd just for that one song (happened before hope it doesn't happen again LOL)...and I'll just burn mixes.
I dunno...I just thought I'd share my view of it all...
Take care,
Stacy

| posted: 10/1/2002 at 10:54:40 PM ET Good point Stacy. I mean, I'm one of those people that will buy the whole CD for one song, and then discover I do like some of the other songs; then again, I'm a compulsive shopper LOL. But I do understand your argument.
I'm sure that nobody here is selling these burnt CD's...and some of you are young, and probably don't have jobs. I just meant that as a whole, I'm glad to see them cracking down on some of the sites, for those that are abusing them. It's really a shame that people have abused them, because now they do have to be shut down.

Registered: 6/29/2002 | posted: 10/2/2002 at 4:14:46 PM ET I never download all the songs on a CD...it's also very helpful right now, when I am doing a project on Buddhism and my group is going to teach the class how to meditate, and I am downloading Buddhist chants for them.
I wouldn't wanna buy a CD of Buddhist chants. No offense to any Buddhists, but I have no use for it.
