I'm already in California and will be at the Bowl concert too! Can't wait! I even have my digital camera binoculars...hopefully they will work!

For anyone in the CA area or who is going I just called the Hollywood Bowl. You can watch rehearsals from 10 to 12:30 on the 8th. They said they don't know which part will be rehearsed and you just have to go and see for yourself. Maybe I'll see some of you there.

The comments/photographs for this event should be really interesting, what with some of our very best photogs and articulate/enthusiastic 'Dettes attending.

I have only three reasons that are keeping me from hopping a plane and joining y'all out there are my nephew Cody, my niece Cara Rose and my sister Mary who are coming for a visit from Texas....very excellent reasons! 
I expect that we will get a full report - along with a rundown of songs and attire. Take notes if you must.

I'm so excited about this concert. So many legendary performers in such a stunning setting. Do you think Bernadette will perform more than one number? I certainly hope so as she is considered by most to the best Sondheim interpreter out there. I would *die* if she did Rose's Turn. Yes, it's true that Sondheim wrote the lyrics not the music, but surely a song like that would never have been written by Jule Styne without Sondheim's invaluable contribution.

Does anyone know if they sell souvenirs or something similar for individual events such as this one? I'm not big on souvenirs but if they have something interesting for this event I might consider it. Just trying to plan how much moolah I should bring.
I'm not interested in general Hollywood Bowl merchandise.

I just read that Barbra Streisand will be performing at the event! Barbra AND Bernadette at the same concert! I hate not being able to go right now.

I am SO EXCITED about this! I can't wait until Fri. I would love it if Bernadette sang Rose's Turn but I'd really like to hear Broadway Baby, The Last Midnight or the first song from Sunday In The Park With George. I give a full report when I get back but I'm actually not too familiar with the performers and a lot of the songs but I'll do my best. I'll definately be taking a lot of pics though.

Rose - you have over 24 hours to familiarize yourself with all of the legends who will be there. Start studying! You will need to know who all of these geniuses are anyway since you are going to study acting. Now get busy! I expect a full report and I will be assigning grades.

Rose, as much as I love "Seinfeld", Jason Alexander is not even in the same stratosphere as Barbara Cook (the original Marion the Librarian), Angela Lansbury, Carol Burnett, Elaine Stritch, Audra McDonald and of course, Bernadette! And if you're lucky, Len Cariou and Angela will do something from "Sweeney Todd".

I didn't say Jason Alexander was in the same league with them I just knew the name yes from Seinfeld and The Producers and I'd LOVE to see something from Sweeney Todd!
