I'll let Sister Rose elaborate about the reading, she should be online soon!

From: NYC | posted: 6/9/2005 at 11:29:55 PM ET Such a fun evening! Bernadette looked amazing - AS USUAL - she had a on a great black dress (I think we've seen before) and a great wrap tied around her shoulders and wore the most ridiculously fantastic high heels - at least a four inch heel but also a one inch platform. Her hair is getting fuller again - love it. They were introduced and came walking into the area which was set up with around 100 chairs more or less. Before it started, a man from Barnes & Noble asked the crowd if anybody was able to sign the program for a deaf program, unfortunately nobody was...but when Bernadette walked in, she turned to the deaf lady and gave her the I Love You sign and pointed from herself to the lady. It was beautiful! I shall never forget it! The author spoke first about the book and the project benefiting the Christopher Reeves Foundation. There were a number of children there - bused in it seemed as they all had nametags on from a community center or library or something. Anyway, so then Mandy and Bernadette read the story along with Dewey Do-It the puppet - it was very cute. Bernadette read with gusto and seemed to love the children. There was a short question period after - mostly for the kids but a few people asked question - Mandy P. mostly answered (did I call it or what?). Chip wanted to ask a question so asked about the pilot and she said she didn't know anything but would let him know when she found out - basically he just wanted to give her a chance to answer a question I think. Our time during the signing and then after taking pictures with her was the best time. She is so sweet and of course remembered Chipf! I knew she would - Chip is unforgettable just like she is!
It was great meeting Kevin, George, Kevin's Mom and seeing BPFan11 and Gypsy1527 again! What a great community that Bernadette has created with the help of Kevin!

I don't really have much to add to Sister Rose's write-up, but it was a really cute evening. Bernadette and Mandy were very animated while reading the story, and were ofcourse gracious as ever during the signing.
It was nice seeing everyone again!

From: NYC | posted: 6/10/2005 at 12:46:04 PM ET I forgot to tell you that I spoke with Patty last night too about upcoming concerts. I asked her if Bernadette would be going to Midland for sure and she said that she thought so since its on her schedule. She asked if I checked her website and I told her that its not on there - neither is Uconn - she was surprised. I told her that Bernadette's site is nice but is rarely updated and that we get most of our info from Kevin's site. She told me that she would talk to Judy Katz since it should be updated. Judy Katz was there but we didn't talk to her.

Also glad you plugged Kevin's site to her.
