And on the subject of being offered a variety of roles, again from the Minnesota Star-Tribune, Nov. 1991:

"Perhaps gun-shy after the number of clinkers she has tried to buoy up, Peters is pretty much concentrating on her one-woman show now. "I've had nothing come to me that interests me enough to do eight shows a week," she said. "I can't really explain definitely what I'm looking for. A great role in a great script with great music. Maybe in 10 or 15 years I'll do a revival of 'Gypsy.' "

Wow. 12 years later.

I wonder if she wasn't just plain tired, after all those movies -what, 5 or so 1988-1990.

Jean - Bernadette being framed by the costume designer for the murder of the librettist - LOVE IT! Also love the throw in of Angela Lansbury aka Jessica Fletcher (watch out for her, when she's around, somebody is bound to be murdered)...and while we're at it, Jerry Orbach was on Murder She Wrote a number of times playing Jessica's detective friend Harry - which leads us back to L&O, although Jerry won't be on in the new season (sniff, sniff)...

I love "six degrees of separation" - you can connect Bernadette with a lot of people easily.

As far as rolls, I also want to see Bernadette in a regular cabaret act - say at the Carlyle. It would be sooooo fun and cool. It's an intimate space too.

And Jerry Orbach was in a completely retarded episode of Love American Style with Bernadette. So there's another connection.

CC in the movie BEACHES with Barbara Hershey. Although Bette is AMAZING in this....I could see Bernadette doing it as well. :0)
