Okay...

So last week, I watched the film, "Pennies From Heaven"...and I'm not really sure what to say about that movie to be honest lol. --It kinda scared me LOL

I don't wanna spoil anything for those who haven't seen it yet...but I just thought I'd share what I liked etc. in the movie.

1. The dancing in the movie is good...Christopher Walkin's dance sequence was very impressive! --(I didn't know that he could dance, and he scares me-but that's just me lol)

2. When you first watch the film, I found it a little weird... the characters just randomly burst into lip-synching/dancing...lol.

3. I dunno about the rest of those who've seen it, but I think Steve Martin's character was weird lol.

4. Bernadette's acting- I thought was great. She definetly deserved that Golden Globe for her performance in this film.

Um...for those who have seen it, is there any feedback about the film that u'd care to give? Please do, it'd be great to have a little discussion or something on this!

Take care,
Stacy

When the characters just burst into song and dance, they are having a fantasy. They are living in the middle of the depression and times are bad so this was a way for them to escape into a happier world. So it's not that they are doing this in real life. You are watching what is going on in their minds or imagination. It is a bizarre movie which is why it didn't do very well because it was so unlike anything else around. But it does have some realy wonderful moments. And yes, Bernadette definitely deserved any awards or accolades she received. She was wonderful and I think she has stated repeatedly that she is the most proud of her work in that film than any other film she has done.

i've watched it many times but I watched it again yesterday actually.
I love this film---it makes me cry. its just how that in the most dark sinister story ,of a mixed-up kinda man's corruption of ever woman he touches(including the lovely eileen), that a happier version of the story emerges. its about the belief in the simple old songs all about the good things in life.
by the way, the lyrics to the title song are so prefound-i love them!
I watched the others today though! It was SO frightening

they say bernadette's wonderful..........and she is

I haven't seen the whole thing because my tape randomly stopped taping about three quaters of the way through the movie. However, what I saw I liked, although I'll admit it was definately different.
In case I never get the chance to see the end, would someone mind telling me what happens? You can email me at Iamporch451@yahoo.com to aviod spoiling it for others. Thanks!

LOL a lot of people think Christopher Walken is scary....I don't get it (I like him). He was in a music video either last year or the year before (for some RAP artist), so I knew he could dance.
Anyway.....yeah, it's not one of my favorite movies, but of course I'll continue to watch it once in a while just because Bernadette is in it
My favorite part is when Steve's character first sees Bernadette's character (in the music store), and he falls for her immediately; then they sing and dance (in fantasy) which is cute.....too bad it's not Bernadette's real voice.
