Really, I don't feel like threatening and I don't feel like banning people who cause trouble.

But for some new visitors who act like jackasses, don't be surprised if you find your ISP blacklisted on my server. If you're from a large ISP, I will disable anonymous posting from those ISPs and require new accounts to be approved before you can post. Just a friendly reminder.

Guys, I don't want to add to the trouble or be negative, but we can't just cut people off from stating their opinions. Of course, we should be civil and respectable, but NO ONE IS PERFECT (including Bernadette) and a happy-go-lucky message board just isn't practical all the time. I have posted anonymously in the past (out of laziness) and I did feel kind of ignored. Now, I am NOT making excuses for some of the immature and rude postings that have stained this board, but I do think that there is truth to some of the comments. We can't throw them away so easily. Please don't block me, Kevin. I'm just trying to be open minded...

I really wasn't looking for a debate... but let me just sum up my position:

I'm not looking to kick off people, but if they irritate me or cause a huge stir on the boards by being deliberately irritating / confrontational to the regulars, then they can go away. I'm not going to kick people off for stating their opinion like a rational person, and I think you'll find most people here will respect that... but I had anonymous people calling my regulars inappropriate names with no provocation. I won't tolerate that.

That's the idea I'm trying to get across. I have a rather large tolerance... although lately between work and some random yahoos in my life, my tolerance is decreasing quickly...

Anyone want to give me a new job? Please?

Oh, I know I have some PMs from you guys waiting to be answered. I'll get to them, I'm just really trying to deal with some stressful junk at the moment.

I hope it's okay if I add a thought in response to PDAGPUP. My thought is that not every valuable post will elicit a response or start a thread. For every one post I manage to respond to, I read dozens more that I find interesting, entertaining, or informative. I may not know an answer or have nothing to add or be busy or just not feel like it at the moment. I've said plenty of things here myself that never had any follow-up, and so has everyone who posts regularly. It does not mean you're being dismissed or ignored. One last comment: the people who choose to post anonymously are precluding the possibility of being answered privately through pm or e-mail--another good reason to register.

Karen-you made some excellent points. I completely agree. I'd like to reply to all posts, but I can't. And I don't expect everyone to respond to every post I make. I've posted several things that got little to no response, and that's fine. I don't expect everything I post to get responses. When I share information,I don't look for a bunch of posts that say "thanks" or "I agree." I'm just sharin' to share.

Different opinions are certainly welcome here (however,if someone posts that he/she can't stand Bernadette,etc,well...that person isn't really going to get a lot of sympathy. This is a fan board.). However, personal attacks are never cool.

Kevin-I hope things get better.

I'm sure for all of us who are considered regulars, as well as those who are knew and will soon be regulars, we appreciate your hard work Kevin.
This is a nice place to visit.

I won't contradict myself and say I like anonymous posting, because I don't. But that doesn't mean I don't read the anonymous posts with equal consideration as I read other posts. Sometimes I read things that I already knew about, or that to me are interesting, but don't necesarily require a response.
And you know what, there are some things I read that I competely disagree with, but I choose to keep my mouth shut, or will try and be as easy-going as possible while still making my opinion known so as to not cause controversy (which, some of you may know is not something I would have done a year or 2 ago). If I do say something in a defensive manner, it's pretty much because someone has pushed it too far.

I'm sure when any of us (regulars, new people, anonymous people) post something useful, it is appreciated by everyone that reads this message board. I just assume that and don't expect a million resposes.

What this whole issue has to do with is not what anyone is saying, but how they're saying it. Freedom of Speech is a wonderful thing, and Kevin has been VERY tolerant. The fact that he now has to do this goes to show you how much people have taken advantage of that freedom.
