A couple of times on Regis she seemed to have trouble reading the cue cards. If her eyes are anything like mine now, one can only wish that the arms are longer!

(Putting it Together) When they were showing the behind the scenes part of the recording process, you'll see her with a pair of glasses on.

| posted: 5/4/2004 at 2:56:29 PM ET Bernadette has worn glasses for the better part of her life. I've seen her in a picture in her early 20s and she had glasses. I believe she is quite near-sighted and I've seen her read quite well without glasses. Not being able to see cue cards would mean she is near-sighted. Also, she wore her glasses (with clip on sunglasses) once on Regis to do archery which would also mean near-sighted. And if I am remembering the Oscar production, she had them on when she was looking at a monitor - once again, near-sighted.
By the way, I love the last picture of her at the Marquis Stage door. Very, um, Bernadette!

I'm very near-sighted, worn glasses all my life, but in my late 40s, now wear bifocals.

| posted: 5/4/2004 at 3:43:47 PM ET yes, she certainly is "beyond" that age but I have recently seen her reading and am amazed that she is doing it without glasses. Maybe she is faking it well.
