Well as of right now here is my plan of hitting stage doors:

Friday Evening:
I'll go to the stage door early (before the show) for GYPSY, so that after I see GYPSY I can go to the Thoroughly Modern Millie stage door and get autographs/pictures with Susan Egan and Dixie Carter (only because the stage doors are pretty close to each other)

Saturday Matinee:
I'll go to the 42nd Street stage door before the show to get pics/autos with Shirley Jones, Patrick Cassidy, and Nadine Isenegger. Then I'll be seeing THE LION KING at 2pm

Saturday Evening: I'll be seeing Beauty and the Beast at 8pm and then hit that stage door after the show (That is if i can crush the massive amounts of kids chanting "CHRISTY, CHRISTY") lol

Sunday Matinee:
Go to the stage door of THE BOY FROM OZ (before the show) to get a pic/auto with Hugh Jackman and Isabelle Keating.

WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK?

I kind of think its wrong to go to the stage door unless you are seeing that performance.

but thats just me.

I think it's annoying how you keep posting this when clearly people don't want to respond.

Why would we be jealous? It's not that hard to go to stage doors and stalk celebrities without supporting their show.

sorry for being this way, I love that our forum is friendly, unlike some of the other theatre forums...but I think my point is valid.

Dude, nobody is jealous, we just think that it's a little wierd that you would do this withhout goin to the show. If your gunna wait at the stage doors for people to come at at least go to the show, and not be so annoying i guess with all this info that really nobody cares about! Thats why this is the Bernadette Thing, not 8 million other shows!.. keep that stuff to the theatre chat.

nobody reads the theatre chat, and as far as "stalking" celebrites....you guys have 0rg@$m$ everytime a word comes out of bernadettes mouth...i thinks shes a great performer and i love broadway shows and appreciate all of them (SEEING THEM OR NOT!) If you never saw THE BOY FROM OZ but sat beside Hugh Jackman in the subway wouldn't YOU want his autograph? I don't live in New York. I think you all have that impression everyone on the forum lives in NY....WRONG...some of us small town kids don't get to go to a broadway show all the time, so when we do it's a big deal...and especially with such an array of stars on broadway right now...it's exciting to see as many as you can. My parents are paying out the nose (money that they had to work in overtime, just so we could do this trip)...I'm sorry if it seems like i'm "stalking" them, but in reality I'm not. I'm a true fan of all of their careers and successes. Shoot, if i had the money to see all the shows and "support" them...i'd do it...but i dont.....i have 2 days in new york...don't ruin this for me just because i'm excited about going...its not fair to me....or any of the small towns (and i dont mean Richmond, Virginia small.....i'm talking SMALL TOWN)

Look, nobody was trying to start trouble with you. And some of us actually do read the theatre chat forum. We chose to ignore your post there as well. It's obnoxious to post something 3 different times on the same forum. Just because nobody responded does not mean nobody read it. Perhaps we were just all following the dignified rule where if you have nothing nice or constructive to say, then don't say anything.
I totally understand that you're only coming for two days and you want to get some autographs. Fine, whatever (and by the way...jealous? Dude, I live in New York. Believe me I'm not jealous of the doors you'll be standing outside of, when I have been on the other side of those doors). I could care less if you want to stage-door hop; which is why I personally didn't respond. You shouldn't get so upset just because nobody here is sharing in your joy.

I'm happy that you'll be able to spend some time in New York. I didn't respond to your post because there really wasn't anything I could add. I don't care for waiting outside the stage door for anyone,so I have no advice to offer you. That's all. In your post, you listed your plan of action and asked "What do you think?" What exactly was someone supposed to say? It sounds like you have it all planned out.

I'm not under the impression that all the posters here live in New York, because I know that's not true. I don't live in New York, and I have no intention of living there at this point in my life (one borough in the future is a consideration-I would be proud to say I worked there.). I'm quite happy with where my life appears to be heading, and that doesn't involve Manhattan. (Now if one particular institution...but no. It's not in a situation to be competitive with others.)

So,anyway-I sincerely hope you have a good trip.

for Jenn:

Thank you very much for your post. It was the first one, well thought out. Maybe you don't care to wait by stage doors, and that's cool, everyone is different, but I like that you still had good things to say like "have a nice trip, etc". My main reason for posting was to see what you all thought....I thought maybe i would get responses back like "ohh thats too risky trying to get all those stage doors in a couple days!" or something positive at least, but you all made me feel very unwelcome (except jenn) to be posting, and quite frankly i'm ashamed, those of you that posted negativly, are bernadette/broadway fans....However, my trip will not be ruined thanks to you all, but i do have a better grasp on this site and the people on it. I would have never gotten this from the GYPSYTHEMUSICAL forum...and in fact, i didn't.....They were all very helpful and had great things to say. So to Jenn, thank you very much for your post, it was the most mature of anyones

Whatever, man. I don't like hanging out by stage doors because I'm quite petite and I have trouble breathing when I'm smushed in a large crowd. That's all. I'm neutral on the stage-door Johnny deal. If that makes you happy, great.

No one was trying to ruin your trip.

You're going to have quite a hectic trip. Are you planning on seeing any actual shows?!

Yeah! OF COURSE! (i thought i said it in my original post)
I'm seeing GYPSY, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and THE LION KING.

and I've already seen THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, WICKED, and 42nd Street last time i went, so its not like i'm not a supporter of the shows.

One more thing, then I'm not posting anymore on this thread:

Please do not single me out against the others on this board. I do not appreciate that at all. I like this board very much. No one was trying to ruin your trip. Just realize that some do not like the stage door deal, and they have the right to express that. 'kay?
