Found the following item on e-bay under BP. Sounds like someone recorded/taped the show on the sly?
"Gypsy on Broadway DVD – OBC I have obtained a recording of BROADWAY most amazing Revival of GYPSY staring the loved Bernadette Peters as the spicy Momma Rose!!! I'm going to guess that is a bootleg and if the folks at ebay are paying attention, the auction will be removed soon.

It's an illegal bootleg. Ebay will pull that, when they notice it, and ban the seller.

Hmm. I don't think so because how would a person know it was not a legal copy? The general ebay bidding public probably doesn't know an official DVD of Gypsy has not been done.

Someone gave me a bootlegged copy of The Producers, that they bought on ebay. It did have the entire show on it, but the zooming in and out, and overall unprofessional quality, made it far from entertaining. Buyers Beware! It's amazing that they make the announcement about no recording devices, but they're not enforcing it.

I don't believe in these type of videos but I know someone who lives in my dorm who has a video of a performance recorded during previews. Its interesting to see and is pretty good quality. I saw the show during this time for this first time and it was nice to recall the changes that have been made to the show. For example the "Rose's Turn" dress used to be the long lavender one from the picture and also had a hat and the overcoat simiilar to the one she wears in the opening of the show.
I didn't see the whole tape though.
