I'm assuming that many of you are fans of other musical theater performers and since I'm not registered on any other sites I'm putting this up here. Hope you don't mind. I'm wondering how much you would be willing to pay and how far you would travel to see one of your favorite performers in an intimate interview setting where they might sing a couple of songs and then mingle at a reception with maybe 80-100 other people. To keep this kinda on topic you can imagine it's for Bernadette or others - Brian Stokes Mitchell, Kristin Chenoweth, Patti LuPone, etc. $25, $50, $75??? Thanks

It would depend on the particular event, I guess. So, let's say Bernadette was going to be in London giving a small concert and then mingling with fans after the event, I would be willing to pay plane fare to London, hotel, food, and cost of the event ticket. So, adding that all up, I guess it would be around $2,000. Of course, that's assuming the event ticket is around $1,000. But who knows, depending on my mood and my financial situation at the time, I would probably be willing to pay more.

I payed (well actually my parents payed) at least $2000 to go to NY to see Gypsy and met Bernadette after the show so I'd be willing to pay at least that much.

Pay-maybe $100, especially if it's for a charity/cause that I support; travel--certainly 25 miles (in my case, that would be Washington DC or northern Baltimore). It would have to offer me a longer interview/song selection to travel much further.

I'm not much for mingling, and I would especially lose my cool if the event were for Julie Andrews/Angela Lansbury/Stephen Sondheim and I were anywhere near them.

It would definitely be a benefit thing and probably tax deductible to a certain extent. Has Lansbury or Andrews done an Actor's Studio thng?

I don't think Julie Andrews has done Actor's Studio, but she did do an interview/speech series in Phoenix. I went and it was very interesting. She held a VIP reception after her speech/interview and I also attended that. It was very interesting and she was very gracious. She even agreed to speak with one man's wife over the cell phone. She was sick or something and unable to make the event and he called her and she spoke to her on his phone. She was very funny, also. Her sense of humor is terrific!
