Presidential Inaugural Gala

Bernadette performed at the inaugural gala for President Bill Clinton's second term. She sang "These Are The Good Times" by Alan Menken & Tom Eyen. The 2 hour show was broadcast live on CBS.

The CD of Bernadette's 1996 Carnegie Hall concert was released by Angel Records. It was nominated for a Grammy in 1998 in the category Traditional Pop.

Emerson College Award

Bernadette received an award for "excellence in musical theatre" from Emerson College in Boston.

From the Boston Globe, 4/24/97:

"Tony-Award winning actress Bernadette Peters received an Award of Distinction from the Musical Theatre Society of Emerson College last night. She was honored after the opening night of "Fame, The Musical," performed by the Society and Emerson Stage."
