Bernadette made her only appearance on NBC's "Late Night With David Letterman" during the run of "Song & Dance."

Bernadette won her first Tony Award for her role as Emma in Song and Dance.

The other nominees were Debbie Allen (Sweet Charity revival) and Cleo Lane (The Mystery of Edwin Drood). And...they meet again! Chita Rivera was also nominated for Jerry's Girls (a Jerry Herman revue).

Bernadette was given Harvard University's "Hasty Pudding Theatricals" Woman of the Year Award in a parade and ceremony held in Cambridge.
