Tulips

Tulips premiered in Canadian movie theaters on this date. It apparently opened in some U.S. theaters later in October. Bernadette played the role of Rutanya Wallace in this low-budget Canadian black comedy about depression and suicide. It was filmed in Montreal in November 1979.

Saturday Night Live

Bernadette guest hosted Saturday Night Live on NBC. The musical guests were Billy Joel and The Go-Gos. The show is best remembered as where Bernadette introduced the song "Making Love Alone" by Marilyn Miller & Cheryl Hardwicke.

Bernadette appeared on the cover of Playboy in December 1981. Inside she was featured in a 6 page photo lay-out, modeling Bob Mackie designed lingerie, and in an accompanying interview. Belying Playboy's image, there was no nudity.
