"Bernadette Peters" LP - Jun 1980

Bernadette's first solo music album was released by MCA Records in 1980. It contained 10 tracks and was produced by Brooks Arthur, with an original cover painting by Alberto Vargas. The original title planned for the album was "Decades."

American Bandstand

Bernadette sang her top 40 hit "Gee Whiz" on an episode on the 23rd season of Dick Clark's long running teen dance show, broadcast Saturday afternoons on ABC. The other guest on the episode was rock group Devo.

The Tonight Show

Bernadette guested on The Tonight Show with guest host Joan Rivers. Other guests included Mariette Hartley and George Gobel. Bernadette sang "Gee Whiz" and "You'll Never Know" and discussed meeting Steve Martin, her Italian family and their advice, her mother & sister, and her skin.
