Forever Young, Forever Free

Bernadette sang the title song, written by Lee Holdridge & Rod McKuen, on the soundtrack of this US/South African co-production. The film (aka Lollipop) opened internationally in 1975 & 1976 and in limited US release in May 1977. Bernadette did not appear in the film.

The Tonight Show

Bernadette guested on The Tonight Show with guest host George Carlin. Other guests included Milton Berle and Sam Levenson. Bernadette sang "Steppin' Out" and "I Don't Know Why I Love You Like I Do" and discussed performing in Las Vegas, making Silent Movie with Mel Brooks, and being unmarried.

Las Vegas

Bernadette made her debut as a headliner act in Las Vegas at the Riviera in the summer of 1977. She had previously worked there as an opening act for Bob Newhart and Rich Little. Later that year she took the show on tour to New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The act was written by Marvin Laird, staged by Walter Painter, and had costumes by Bob Mackie. William Roy was the musical director. Her supporting dancers were John King & Barry Woodruff.
