I,too love the Man ..Mancha songs and Jekel and Hyde BUT..her Some People and Being Alive tracks are weak.Perhaps Babra S.has the power to sing these songs..Bernadette has put all her "living and pain" - and humor into her music..maybe that's why I never tire of her as I often do other performers.She has that certain quality that grabs you and doesn't let go!Make sense?

Patty, I don't think I've ever heard Linda sing "Being Alive." Has anyone else?? As for "Some People," I agree that Bernadette really "gets" that song :-) No one can sing it like she can!!

Well, I now associate "Being Alive" as one of Bernadette's songs (even though it wasn't written for her).
You know how you just find one singer who can sing a particular song better than anyone else, and then you say, "It's their song."
Bernadette: Being Alive
Barbra: People
Linda: Man of La Mancha
Judy Garland: Over the Rainbow
etc....

I agree- one of the only songs I was disappointed with on Broadway My Way was "Some People," perhaps because I am so used to Bernadette's version, which is very different from Linda's. And I am pretty sure Dana is right- I've never heard Linda sing "Being Alive" either, although I would love to hear that!

Sorry folks!!Being Alive is not on the new album..I heard her singing Some People and I thought it was so poorly done that when I went to sleep that night,I must have dreamed the other song!{I do that sometimes when I'm reading ..I continue MY own story lines inmy sleep]! Strange girl,you say?!

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Linda's version of "Some People" was "poorly done." It's different, but it isn't bad. The album is called "Broadway, My Way" afterall :-) Linda's way is o.k. LOL!!
