Registered: 2/16/2003 | posted: 3/1/2003 at 7:02:18 PM ET hi all. i'm a student at hofstra university and i am hesitant to post this, but i thought i would retract it later if i had to, rather than not posting it at all. there is a musical theatre conference to take place here at hofstra mar 26-30 that will revue the history of the broadway musical from 1920-2020. bernadette was thought to be here friday mar. 29, however the board is not sure anymore because of gypsy and the fact that on days she has to perform, she doesn't do anything else. as of now, i dont think she will be here, but i thought i'd let you know just incase b/c the rest of the conference should be awsome. some other famous people in their own right will be here. they tried to get sondheim himself, but he and hal prince are in chicago (i believe) right now colaberating on their new musical "gold". if bernadette does happen to come, i will def post it right away.

I heard about the conference too. Sounds like its going to be awesome!! However, the 29th is a Saturday which I am pretty positive will be a rehearsal day for her-- with the show begining previews 2 days later( Unless you meant Friday the 28th-- which will probably also be a rehearsal day for her).I sort of doubt she'd be able to do it but atleast it is before previews for Gypsy even begin.I know of a few schools and music programs that have been thinking about having her there for different events...I guess its all a matter of timing though.
I'm sure she'd love to go back to Hofstra considering she got her doctorate from there last year but she'll probably also be so focused on Gypsy opening.It'd be wonderful if she could attend though!
