| posted: 8/16/2005 at 11:00:39 AM ET I have never had any desire to see Mamma Mia. My brother has come to NYC on a couple of occasions and wanted to see it because he is an ABBA fan, heck, so am I. I've tried to explain to him that he would be better off listening to a greatest hits album.
But now .... Well I'm loving Michele Pawk in every thing she does and then to top it all off with John Dossett (drool). Yes, I'm going to have to get myself to Mamma Mia (she types with a cringe).

From: tonawanda,n.y. | posted: 8/19/2005 at 10:10:58 PM ET If you allow yourself to really get into it,"Mamma Mia" can be great fun! My experience in Toronto, where it first pre-miered was very uplifting. AT the finish, everyone was either singing or dancing in the aisles! And, oh god, we sure could use anything that makes us want to sing and dance in these poor sad days in our world!
The Buffalo showing a year or so later was not as wonderful as they made it more "risque" and they didn't need too! It was fun, nevertheless, and if you had not had the Toronto experience,,, well, you know...
To the loveliest lady of song!
You will keep on giving me joy forever...

From: NYC | posted: 8/19/2005 at 10:27:08 PM ET I saw it as a tourist in 2002 before I ever moved to NY. My travel companion bought the tickets without knowing anything about it. We thought it was about an Italian Mamma! Duh! We were in the hotel room and I was reading a NY travel magazine and saw the ad for it and that it was ABBA - we couldn't believe it. Well we went begrudgingly and ended up having a really good time. After I moved to NY about 6 months later, I discovered that Louise Pitre, who originated the Mamma role here in NY, lived in my building! I used to ride the elevator with her and she was extremely nice.
