Does anyone know anything about the circumstances of the song in the original show it was in, "Marry Me a Little?"
I do know that "Marry Me a Little" was a musical revue and more of a song cycle, but was there any sort of plot line to it or particular character that sang it for a reason?
I also know that this song was originally incidental music that Sondheim wrote for the first Broadway show he worked on, "The Girls of Summer" by N. Richard Nash.
I'm a little unsure how to play with it... we were discussing all sorts of things about it. And I know to just act the lyric- that's what Sondheim is all about- I sing a lot of his stuff- usually it's really specific to the character and the show, hence why I'm wondering if anyone knows about "Marry Me a Little?"
Any help would be great. Thanks!
