Does anyone have any ideas for a hotel I could stay at when I come for Avery Fisher Hall? Thanks.

I've had good luck with The Belvedere Hotel. It's smack in midtown. Dream is also very nice. That is near Carnegie Hall. The Hilton hotels are all also decent. I am very picky (read VERY PICKY) when it comes to hotels and all of the above were clean and convenient. You can usually get good deals on the Hilton hotels and The Belvedere.

Picky, eh? I guess that's why you like that certain 5 star hotel on the upper west side! Too bad it doesn't have accomodations for all of you Fanadettes arriving for May 1st.

I spent two hours on the internet six weeks ago to find a decent hotel in my price range. I wanted to stay near the Lincoln Center as I have never stayed near Central Park. I booked a room for two at the Comfort Inn on the Park for 3 nights at the cost of $678 total , including taxes, etc. I could only get twin beds..I wanted two full.and that was the best they had. I stayed at the Comfort Inn near Times Square in 2004, and it was clean and quiet. I suppose I could have gotten a room at a better hotel, but they were very high priced. Since I have plane fare to consider, and "Spamalot" tickets, the trip alone, not counting food, is already almost $1000! Many hotels I looked into were already booked for this time, so you better not wait till the last minute! Comfort Inn is on 71st street, so it is close enough to the Center. Time is flying!!Can hardly wait!! Good luck..
