Saw gypsy this afternoon. Was privileged to see one of the greatest performances in musical theatre in my lifetime. I've seen all the other best actress performances this season, and Bernadette was by far the best, and she should have won the Tony Award, I'm very upset that she didn't win, and I had to voice my opinion. Now what will she do, after Gypsy does anyone know?

Someone asked her that in a television interview (the night it opened actually) and her response was, "I don't know. I'll do it for a while."

When it was first announced that Bernadette would be doing GYPSY, the plan was that a London engagement would occur before Broadway. Of course, this is not the way it turned out. London is still a very strong possibility after Broadway, and presumably, a hiatus for Bernadette. She is curreuntly contracted through mid-March 2004, and it is open for possible extension if ticket sales continue to be strong into 2004.
