Have any of you received your pre-order of the Follies CD from PSclassics? I received an e-mail on Monday that it shipped. I can't wait to hear the whole thing! I'm in Texas, so I'm wondering if I will receive it by the weekend. Just wondering if any of you all have gotten lucky!

I received my copy of the CD on November 17; it was mailed on November 13 (from New York).

I didn't pre-order. I decided to wait until it's available on Amazon MP3, as that is how I obtain all of my music nowadays. But after reading the reviews, I'm starting to regret that decision.

I got mine on Nov. 17th. It is AMAZING. I've been listening to it a lot. Bernadette sounds really good.

Just listened to the whole thing (over the NPR broadcast). Bernadette sounds great!
Does Jan Maxwell sound different to anyone? It sounds like her singing is kind of forced.

I did not pre-order, listened/listening on NPR. Glad I sprang for good speakers on my computer. I think Bernadette Peters and Jan Maxwell both made great vocal choices for their characters. Bernadette sounds particularly good in her head register.

Don't get me wrong, I think Jan still sounds good on the recording. I absolutely love the way she sings "The Story of Lucy and Jessie." She just sounds a little different from the way I remember her on stage. Maybe I'm just not familiar enough with her singing style.

AMH I hear what you mean about Jan's singing. I think that she is making sure that all the words she is singing are clear. When she sings the song live she is moving around the stage and dance instead of just signing the song out.
I really like Peters "Losing my Mind". She is really "acting" the song.

I got my Cd at the Barnes and Nobles and the whole cast was there to sign it, including Stephen Sondheim!! It was a pretty amazing experience!! Bernadette Peters really does look Fantastic!
